Gods plan for man in the names of the patriarchs

A lot of people, when it comes time to name a baby, will research names and their meanings. I know my name “Bradley” means, broad -meadows. It is old English. Brad, being the pronunciation of broad. And ley corresponding to lay as in “lay of the land”.
Brad Lay,
Broad lay,
Broad meadows
It is fun to see Gods hand in naming some, as in a child I know. His name is “Rodney Braden”. He was born in Richmond BC Canada. Which is in the Fraser Valley, on Lulu Island. Rodney means, “Mountain Valley”, and Braden means Island Clearing. Braden was named, with out this knowledge of the various meanings, yet look how the meaning of his name is the same as the location of his birth.

God at times may or may not name a child, I’m not sure, when or when not, but I heard a teaching once from a Jewish Man, who became born again. And with his knowledge of the Hebrew language, filled in the name meanings, which the bible doesn’t give in the reference section. Also there is the element of Lamech that I have expounded on.

The names of the patriarchs from Adam (through the first born of each) are as follows,
Adam, Seth, Enosh, Kenan, Mahalalel, Jered, Enoch, Methuselah, Lamech, Noah.
Starting with Noah, and working backwards, Noah means comfort.

Gen 5;29 He named him Noah and said, "He will comfort us in the labor and painful toil of our hands caused by the ground the LORD has cursed."

Lamech, is an interesting one.
Gen5;31. Altogether, Lamech lived 777 years, and then he died.
What is interesting is that although there is no mention of this Lamech’s meaning, his age corresponds to another Lamech’s dilemma. In the lineage of Cain, (the one who was the first of mankind to murder), was a man named Lamech.

Here is what is written;
Gen 4; 23. Lamech said to his wives, "Adah and Zillah, listen to me; wives of Lamech, hear my words. I have killed a man for wounding me, a young man for injuring me.
 24. If Cain is avenged seven times, then Lamech seventy-seven times."
It is clear that this man was nervous, about his well being, and was somewhat despairing. The clever coloration, in the naming and placing of the information, is 7 times, and 77 times, kind of looks like, our patriarch Lamech’s age. (another clever coloration, is the amount of times we are to forgive our brother, of Matthew 18;21)
The despairing will curse 7times and 77times, whereas the Righteous, forgive, more than 7 times, but 77 times.

So obviously Lamech means despairing .
Methuselah, means Shall give , as in a warning.
I have heard some teachings on this , but suffice it to say, this is the meaning.
Enoch, means Who’s Death, is explained this way, Gen 5; 24. Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.
Meaning that God brought him home to heaven, without him dieing.
Jared , means Shall come down,
Mahalalel, means Blessed God,
Kenan, means With sin,
Enosh, means Mortal

These names I haven’t found explanations for there meaning in the Bible, the meanings have come by way of the Hebrew language, or understanding of the name, through tradition. ( if anyone finds Biblical definitions, Please contact me)

Seth, means Appointed, and as a patriarch, Seth is different, as he was not the first born of Adam. Cain was the first-born, yet banished to wander. And in the scripture we find the explanation.
KJV Gen4;25. And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.
And in Gods eyes he also was appointed as the first born as we can see in the inspired words of Luke, counting Jesus genealogy. 3; 38. the son of Enosh, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God.

So now that we have looked at the meanings of the names of the patriarchs, let us be reminded, that we are about to look at Gods plan for man in the names of the patriarchs.

Down the left side will be the names, and down the right side will be the meaning of the name.

Adam ............Man
Seth .............Appointed
Enosh ...........Mortal
Kenan ...........With Sin
Mahalalel .......Blessed God
Jared ............Shall Come Down
Enoch ...........Who’s Death
Methuselah ....Shall Give
Lamech .........The Despairing
Noah .............Comfort

And as we read the meanings of the names as a sentence, we read

Man, appointed mortal, with sin. But Blessed God, shall come down,
who’s death, shall give, the despairing, comfort.
