The Video below is from TenderHoof.com

Presented to give you an idea of the procedure.

This horse below was offered as a "Fix It or Can It".

The first look that I had I knew that the foot had to be wedged in order to make her comfortable. IT WORKED and the horse is saved !!!!

2 years later the foot developed a quarter crack and it just was there for some time. I heard about stitching the crack for stabilization in an AFJ issue and then a few months later saw the video that is above. I ordered the materials and told my client, who is an EMERG. Nurse, about it and she felt as I did that this was the solution for this horse. The photos below show the crack as it was and then the process of gouging the crack out with a Dremel, stitching for the first time, and then how it looked three months later. When I get a chance next visit I will load a photo of the crack disappeared.

The above is the first step in the process where the grove is left open, to ensure there is no infection. The below is the third visit and it was left open as a white line pathology appeared during the second visit. It was cleaned out and left open to ensure it didn't develop further.
